[09:20:49] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[09:22:12] <abaumann> deep42thought: ok, also my experiment failed. :-(
[09:22:46] <abaumann> There are options: a) keep an older working toolchain around and build with that one (but this is a little bit against the Arch way)
[09:23:08] <abaumann> b) Try to debug the binutils linker and find the but (somthing we lack expertice and amount of hands)
[09:30:55] <abaumann> *bug

[12:29:12] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[12:29:25] <deep42thought> Hi, sry for the delay - I had a typo in a mysql query :-/
[12:36:16] <deep42thought> the binutils-is-in-[core] thing is probably due to me marking all packages used in a successful build as "tested"
[13:44:49] <deep42thought> regarding binutils: I think, I deleted the broken one and the one in [core] is the working old one
[13:45:06] <deep42thought> (it is from 2018-04-24)
[13:46:40] <deep42thought> yeah, upstream has 2.30-4 - we only 2.30-3.0
[13:47:13] * buildmaster failed to execute a mysql query - can you have a look at "tmp.mysql-functions.query.stdin.2018-05-13T13:46:56.qd4Bj8"?.
[14:00:17] <deep42thought> I'll inverstigate this later

[18:46:40] <ARandomScientist> I have an issue regarding SDDM. I've replied to someone else's thread on the forums here: https://bbs.archlinux32.org . I have another reply below that one.

[18:51:10] -!- DosAmp has joined #archlinux32
[19:00:12] <DosAmp> Can we have a local copy of the GnuPG key on the website or the mirrors? It's not really any less secure in the event of a website compromise, but more convenient than trying out five different public keyservers that are overloaded or can't find keys by their full fingerprint (the sixth one worked for me, luckily).

[19:36:53] <deep42thought> ARandomScientist: certainly a nice-to-have
[19:37:22] <deep42thought> ah, sry
[19:37:31] <deep42thought> DosAmp: I meant you :-)
[19:37:52] <eschwartz> DosAmp: you mean run a pgp keyserver pool?
[19:38:13] <deep42thought> no
[19:38:24] <deep42thought> only publish our 5 master keys on the server
[19:38:34] <eschwartz> A very minimal pool, eh
[19:38:58] <eschwartz> You don't need that, simply publish them as a keyring.pgp file
[19:39:06] <DosAmp> Yes, at the moment the download page only links to Tyler's key on pgp.mit.edu for the iso downloads.
[19:39:18] <eschwartz> Import the whole thing, gpf will dedupe
[19:39:28] <eschwartz> It's what the keyring package already does
[19:39:40] <deep42thought> yeah, this works, too
[19:39:50] <eschwartz> So just link to the keyring itself
[19:40:12] <eschwartz> I'd like to point out this is a terrible way to bootstrap trust
[19:40:44] <eschwartz> The correct technical solution is to link to the external blogs and other public environments of key holders
[19:41:14] <eschwartz> Then let the user compare the fingerprints to the one they got from keyring.gpg
[19:42:24] <deep42thought> does archlinux itself link to external sources/references for the keys?
[19:43:57] <eschwartz> Not really, the webpage for that is a bit stale
[19:44:24] <eschwartz> We don't even mention whose key should be signing the ISO
[19:44:33] <eschwartz> It's always Pierre, but...

[21:14:50] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[21:16:18] <abaumann> My glibc experiments are not very reassuring. Tried to disable static PIE, segfault. Tried patching binutils, segfault. Downgrading binutils to 2.29 is the only thing which helps. Now having 1243 packages in the queue this issue becomes critical.
