[20:47:51] <abaumann> the machine was working with xorg 1.19 and MACH64 drivers. I don't think this is a 32-bit issue, rather a Xorg issue.
[20:55:32] <abaumann> much better, I uninstalled gdm (which seems to play some fancy tricks on startup), so Gnome goes in a direction I cannot follow.. now VGA arbiter has a null pointer derefernence in the mach64 driver. :-)
