[00:31:12] <thePiGrepper> I have one question regarding the current packages breaking. wouldnt a good way to test these be (at least for most of the packages) to run the changes inside a container of sorts and then run that script which was mentioned on the thread.

[01:44:52] <thePiGrepper> Ive been having issues with perl(as many other ppl), and I have a conflict with imagemagick which still requires perl5.26. even the testing one is too old now. the latest imagemagick on Archx64(7.0.8.10) does use perl5.28 though. any plans to package it? I've tried using a modified PKGBUILD from Arch64 but it failed. suggestions?

[07:07:15] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[07:08:55] <abaumann> thePiGrepper: the problem is not so much, that nobody is testing it, the problem is that imagemagick didn't compile first at all, then checks where not running, so it got behind. The switch of perl 5.26/5.28 to only perl dependencies upstream broke the detection and let perl 5.28 be published to stable prematurely. The main problem is, we can only move forward and not backward and not depublish perl 5.28.
[07:09:10] <abaumann> imagemagick is now in stable and should fit to perl 5.28
[07:10:07] <abaumann> deep42thought: I tried ./db-update -w -f 92100 to move imagemagick to stable, I only get "Nothing to move here".
[07:10:22] <abaumann> ssh: Could not resolve hostname buildmaster.archlinux32.org: Temporary failure in name resolution
[07:10:35] <abaumann> Is that my hoster or do other slave had the same issue?
[07:14:07] <abaumann> *did have
[07:18:48] <abaumann> buildmaster: why don't you stabilize imagemagick
[07:18:49] <buildmaster> abaumann: "imagemagick" is not tested.
[07:19:14] <abaumann> just called modify-package-state -w -t
[07:19:16] <abaumann> *puzzle*
[07:20:28] <abaumann> buildmaster: why don't you stabilize imagemagick
[07:22:44] <abaumann> hah. now the buildmaster doesn't know what to say.
[07:23:09] <abaumann> even setting is_tested manually in the mysql database in binary_packages didn't change anything.
[07:23:22] <buildmaster> abaumann: imagemagick cannot be moved:
[07:23:23] <buildmaster> (or) libMagickCore-7.Q16HDRI.so.6 0 --> i686/testing/libmagick-7.0.8.10-3.0-i686.pkg.tar.xz 0

[07:23:58] <abaumann> it would be nice to now, why they cannot be moved *grmpf*
[07:25:38] <abaumann> and the system is building everything but the things I have put on high priority.

[07:36:09] <abaumann> "You do not build anything currently - abort whatever you are doing." what now?!
[07:41:09] <abaumann> ah. gtk-doc run somewhere else and on my slave.
[07:41:29] <abaumann> gtk-doc seems to have confused my whole machine completly, I don't know what the checks are doing exactly!
[07:41:36] <abaumann> Rebooting slave eurobuild3 :-)
[07:41:57] -!- girls has joined #archlinux32
[07:42:06] <abaumann> morns :-)
[07:42:57] <girls> abaumann: you gave db-update (which is btw in $PATH) the id of binary_packages, but it needs the one of binary_packages_in_repositories (e.g. a 61890).
[07:43:28] <girls> Hi abaumann
[07:43:50] <girls> and the why-dont-you thingy is still quite experimental :-/
[07:44:27] <girls> what you saw in irc from the buildmaster are mostly debug output, I fear
[07:45:11] <buildmaster> ostree is broken (says nlopc46).
[07:47:30] <girls> and regarding ignored priorities: are you sure, the dependencies are met?
[07:51:24] <abaumann> * abaumann slaps his forehead.
[07:51:29] <abaumann> yeah.
[07:51:52] <abaumann> no, I'm not sure the dependencies are met.
[07:52:23] <abaumann> But that's the point: sometimes I want to force building something without respecting dependencies because they are temporarily borked

[09:58:25] <abaumann> aha. and java8-openjdk is caught in the glibc 2.28/gnulib fiasko.
[09:58:29] <abaumann> ok then.
[10:00:00] <abaumann> we have to solve those problems first..
[10:00:24] <abaumann> * abaumann dares to ask the question if pushing glibc 2.28 to stable upstream was such a good idea..

[16:30:57] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[16:38:12] <tyzoid> hey
[16:45:11] <abaumann> hey there. :-)
[16:47:02] <abaumann> http://mail.openjdk.java.net
[16:47:03] <phrik> Title:Re: jdk build fails due to "warning: ‘readdir_r’ is deprecated" (at mail.openjdk.java.net)
[16:47:13] <abaumann> really funny. they debate wheter to remove a deprecation warning.
[16:47:38] <abaumann> the glibc manpage is brutal: stop using readdir_r, it was a bad idea from the beginning.
[16:49:30] <abaumann> ok, I do a hotfix. Just so I can keep the building alive..
[16:51:30] <elibrokeit> abaumann: https://bugs.archlinux.org
[16:51:31] <phrik> Title:FS#59862 : [libxss] invalid source url (at bugs.archlinux.org)
[16:52:02] <abaumann> ah, thanks for making the bugreport. :-)
[16:52:21] <abaumann> sorry, I would have made one, but...
[16:54:26] <elibrokeit> investigating causes well enough to have something to point to as the fix, generally qualifies a bug report as good enough to use :)
[16:56:07] <abaumann> btw: readdir_r stuff is also there in openjdk8
[16:57:53] <abaumann> it's in hotspot, so maybe it affects only 32-bit and not 64-bit?
[17:44:02] <abaumann> Generating precompiled header precompiled.hpp.gch
[17:44:02] <abaumann> cc1plus: error: the "stabs" debug format cannot be used with pre-compiled headers [-Werror=deprecated]
[17:44:06] <abaumann> cc1plus: all warnings being treated as errors
[17:44:08] <abaumann> oh. do we really need java?
[18:21:07] <abaumann> mmh. hotfix looking good..
[18:26:44] <buildmaster> gitlab is broken (says nlopc43).
[18:27:45] <elibrokeit> abaumann: have you considered filing an upstream bug report that "why are you using silly things like -Werror"
[18:27:59] <elibrokeit> (also are they likely to listen to sanity)
[18:29:55] <elibrokeit> oh ew
[18:30:00] <elibrokeit> do I wanna know: http://mail.openjdk.java.net
[18:30:01] <phrik> Title:Build error with GCC4.8 on Fedora19 (at mail.openjdk.java.net)
[18:30:02] <abaumann> yes, I will, but first I want to see if my patch actually works :-)
[18:30:42] <abaumann> seen that. my goal is actually to unblock packages depending on java to reduce the current backlog.
[18:30:58] * elibrokeit rages incoherently
[18:31:06] <abaumann> mmh?
[18:31:16] <abaumann> did I say something wrong?
[18:31:31] <elibrokeit> no, it's just java again
[18:31:36] <abaumann> ah. :-)
[18:31:38] <elibrokeit> why is it always java
[18:31:40] <abaumann> * abaumann: uff!
[18:32:20] <abaumann> I want to understand why readline_r is beaking in 32-bit hotspot, but not when compiling a 64-bit version..
[18:48:49] <abaumann> buildmaster: why don't you build libbluray
[18:48:55] <buildmaster> abaumann: "libbluray" has unmet dependencies:
[18:48:55] <buildmaster> java8-openjdk
[18:49:09] <abaumann> yes.. that's now in the repo..
[18:52:21] <abaumann> ah. now. it got to buildknecht only right now..

[20:13:36] <tyzoid> obs-studio should debend on ffmpeg
[20:14:00] <tyzoid> not sure why it'd be building before ffmpeg
[20:14:22] <abaumann> because ffmepg has been built for staging.
[20:14:28] <tyzoid> ah
[20:14:33] <abaumann> just trying to move it to stable
[20:15:03] <tyzoid> hey abaumann: What do you think of websocket access to smtp / imap?
[20:15:27] <abaumann> oeh..
[20:15:42] <abaumann> what for? for a very responsive web client?
[20:15:58] <tyzoid> that
[20:15:59] <tyzoid> or...
[20:16:11] <tyzoid> using email through a forward http proxy
[20:16:30] <abaumann> ok. never thought about that. :-)
[20:23:29] <abaumann> :: removing libx264 breaks dependency 'libx264.so=152-32' required by ffmpeg
[20:23:33] <abaumann> shoot. not again.
[20:25:23] <abaumann> so, I rebuild it again and it's linked against an old libx264?
[20:25:28] <abaumann> lemme check the build-support.
[20:25:58] <abaumann> nope.
[20:26:07] <abaumann> it should have linked against x264
[20:34:54] <abaumann> buildmaster: why don't you build llvm
[20:34:59] <buildmaster> abaumann: "llvm" has unmet dependencies:
[20:34:59] <buildmaster> ocaml-ctypes
[20:34:59] <buildmaster> llvm
[20:35:15] <abaumann> ah. that's another block because of ocaml package manager.
[20:35:29] <abaumann> which is broken also upstreams.. by the way.
[20:38:16] <buildmaster> logstash is broken (says nlopc46).
