[14:13:01] <girls> elibrokeit: yeah, right, I can simply monitor that library - but I like to keep that configurable, e.g. I'll parse some comment in the PKGBUILD, which library is actually needed
[14:13:40] <girls> btw: how about that box for a decent mysql server for the build master: https://szilassi.eckner.net
[14:24:38] <elibrokeit> girls: lol, nice box
[14:25:16] <girls> elibrokeit: it even comes with 2G swap ;-P

[16:39:44] <Piraty> thePiGrepper: take a look into #xbps and ask Cogitri or maxice about their dev work on systemd + musl. i know they have patches upstream refused but should work

[22:04:43] <thePiGrepper> does anyone know if I can create a simple file by echoing output to a new filename inside PKGBUILD?
[22:05:03] <thePiGrepper> does it make any sense? or I should just add an additional source
[22:07:32] <rcf> I don't see why you couldn't.
[22:07:43] <bill-auger> you can write a file from the PKGBUILD if its not too messy
[22:08:32] <thePiGrepper> bill-auger: it's a oneliner script..
[22:08:58] <thePiGrepper> bill-auger: well, that'd make it a two-liner maybe though..
[22:09:09] <thePiGrepper> how?
[22:09:42] -!- guys has joined #archlinux32
[22:10:34] <bill-auger> i just mean the build script should be easy to read - any more than a one or two lines would be clutter
[22:11:31] <bill-auger> how is just like any other shell script - a PKGBUILD really is just a shell script
[22:11:32] <thePiGrepper> sure. then, do I just 'echo 'text' > "pkgdir/path/to/file"'?
[22:11:59] <bill-auger> $pkgdir/etc/afile yes
[22:12:33] <bill-auger> as long as that file does not already exist (owned by another package)
[22:16:25] <thePiGrepper> thx. it was giving me issues so I had doubts. at the end, it was just a typo..
[22:39:27] <elibrokeit> thePiGrepper: you'd need to make sure the directory exists first, and it causes the PKGBUILD to contain both *build instructions* and *artifacts*.
[22:40:06] <elibrokeit> Generally I see no reason not to use a separate file
[22:49:51] -!- woshty has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
[22:54:01] <thePiGrepper> elibrokeit: thx. Im implicitly making sure of that, by creating the file after installing the main files in that same dir. right, I could just as well create a new file
