[07:03:08] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[07:03:08] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[07:03:09] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> I never used zen at all :-)
[07:19:23] <abaumann> sftp> ln -s ../../pool/python-openstackclient-3.16.0-1.0-any.pkg.tar.xz python-openstackclient-3.16.0-1.0-any.pkg.tar.xz
[07:19:26] <abaumann> Couldn't symlink file "../../pool/python-openstackclient-3.16.0-1.0-any.pkg.tar.xz" to "/srv/arch-mirror/arch/arch/archlinux32/i486/community/python-openstackclient-3.16.0-1.0-any.pkg.tar.xz": Failure
[07:19:30] <abaumann> I'm puzzled
[07:19:42] <abaumann> so either the mirror run out of inodes or I don't know how to use sftp :-)
[07:22:12] <abaumann> The problem is that things get inconsistent in random ways: this was a move of python-openstackclient-3.19 to community, I suppose, python-openstackclient-3.16 is the old version which was half removed: the package got removed, the signature and the database entry are orphan
[07:31:35] <abaumann> I can copy the file there python-openstackclient-3.16.0-1.0-any.pkg.tar.xz
[07:32:19] <abaumann> aha. I can hardlink
[07:33:03] * abaumann is really sorry deep42thought has to clean up all the mess after me..
[07:49:45] <abaumann> | 408938 | 309928 | 0 | 3.19.0 | 1 | 1 | | | python-openstackclient | 1 | 5e1afa785d61da2ebedefcff6468c97c448c152d02bfa0dda4087dc2de6042e394a5bdea882f7217e715c2cb907a3683ac842a995052733a0c2889609d5b131c | |

[07:49:55] <abaumann> 4.0.0?
[07:50:09] <abaumann> https://www.archlinux.org
[07:50:10] <phrik> Title: Arch Linux - python-openstackclient 4.0.0-1 (any) (at www.archlinux.org)
[07:50:17] <abaumann> aha. this is the upcoming new version
[07:51:56] <abaumann> which is on the build list. this seems correct.
[07:52:37] <abaumann> the funy part is: 3.19.0 is only in community-testing, 3.1.16 is nowhere.
[08:06:36] <abaumann> repo-remove" them first..
[08:06:43] <abaumann> yeah. where is repo-remove :-)
[08:07:30] <abaumann> so, stable lost track of python-openstackclient (3.16.0), half of the files are still hanging around on the master mirror
[08:07:40] * abaumann gives up before he creates a bigger mess

[08:51:30] * buildmaster resumes sanity.
[08:51:50] <deep42thought> btw, abaumann: repo-remove is the repo-remove from pacman - either do it on the master mirror directly, mount the master mirror via sshfs and do it there or do it like the buildmaster does: copy the repository file, run repo-remove and copy the file(s) back

[09:06:48] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[09:06:48] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[09:06:49] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> We should really not build a package more than 99 times. ;-)
[09:07:09] <abaumann> hi deep42thought
[09:07:10] <deep42thought> Hi abaumann!
[09:07:17] <abaumann> ah. you sorted out my mess :-)
[09:07:23] <deep42thought> it was a small mess
[09:07:38] <deep42thought> `repo-remove community.db python-openstackclient` solved it
[09:07:39] <abaumann> I'm more curious how it can happen.
[09:07:43] <abaumann> ah.
[09:07:54] <deep42thought> "you need to first repo-remove them"
[09:08:04] <deep42thought> sry, this is an error message from me for me
[09:11:08] -!- infides has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
[09:11:16] <deep42thought> maybe it's related to the report of a broken python-openstackclient?
[09:11:27] <deep42thought> at 1:29:24
[09:11:42] <deep42thought> and at 2:12:56, the sanity-check noticed, something was wrong
[09:12:44] <abaumann> possible
[09:16:20] <abaumann> asp32 -u export community/python-openstackclient
[09:16:22] <abaumann> error: package 'python-openstackclient' not found in repo 'community-x86_64'
[09:16:26] <abaumann> the repo is community-any
[09:16:33] <deep42thought> errr
[09:17:04] <abaumann> minor :-)
[09:17:55] <deep42thought> some bug in asp, I suppose
[09:18:06] <abaumann> yep
[09:18:13] <abaumann> python-openstacksdk is missing somehow..
[09:19:04] <abaumann> seeding found it
[09:19:13] * abaumann shrugs
[09:19:22] <deep42thought> you mean seed-build-list found it?
[09:19:31] <deep42thought> that one uses completely different logic
[09:19:46] <deep42thought> I guess, asp simply picks the wrong architecture
[09:20:19] <abaumann> yep.
[09:20:27] <deep42thought> $ asp32 export core/pacman-mirrorlist
[09:20:27] <deep42thought> error: package 'pacman-mirrorlist' not found in repo 'core-x86_64'
[09:20:36] <deep42thought> ... happens with any any package, it seems :-)
[09:20:56] <abaumann> that's why they are any packages those any packages..
[09:20:58] <deep42thought> happens also with upstream asp :-D
[09:21:04] <abaumann> yep.
[09:26:21] <buildmaster> any/python-openstackclient is broken (says eurobuild6-5): https://archlinux32.org
[09:31:57] -!- infides has joined #archlinux32
[09:34:14] <abaumann> check-upstream-bug-tracker is a cool tool :-)
[09:34:26] <abaumann> I consider adding checking for flagged out-of-date there
[09:34:51] <deep42thought> it's already in return-assignment
[09:34:55] <deep42thought> (I added it yesterday)
[09:34:58] <abaumann> ha! :-)
[09:35:15] <deep42thought> there is a `upstream_flag_date` column in the database now
[09:35:24] <deep42thought> which is "0000-00-00 00:00:00" for unflagged packages
[09:35:37] <deep42thought> (no idea, why mysql won't take a NULL on a TIMESTAMP column ...)
[09:35:38] <abaumann> it doesn't show up on the build-list.php
[09:35:43] <deep42thought> yes
[09:35:51] <deep42thought> I didn't know how to properly display it
[09:35:57] <deep42thought> any ideas are welcome
[09:36:13] <deep42thought> yet another column seemed to make everything too crowded for my taste
[09:36:24] <abaumann> I added "flagged out-of-date upstream' to the "Blocked" column by hand in the past
[09:36:41] <deep42thought> hmm
[09:37:06] <deep42thought> do we really want to block those packages?
[09:37:09] <abaumann> Adding a link would be nice, so one can click on it.
[09:37:16] <abaumann> yeah. not really.
[09:37:19] <deep42thought> where should it lead to?
[09:37:20] <abaumann> it's more informative.
[09:37:23] <deep42thought> to the package site?
[09:37:27] <abaumann> to the main page, yep.
[09:38:10] <abaumann> we could also work with a red color on another column, the question would be which one..
[09:39:12] <abaumann> btw. the archlinux32 git links point to git2 (which, fun fact, now also has an expired certificate) :-)
[09:41:19] <deep42thought> ah, that one pointed to the banana pi - which is now behind an unpenetrable nat firewall
[09:41:37] <deep42thought> so git2 is dead - until we move yet another time (or change the isp)
[09:42:49] <deep42thought> ah, no
[09:42:53] * deep42thought is confused
[09:42:59] <deep42thought> what the hell???
[09:43:14] <deep42thought> git4 was the banpi
[09:43:25] <deep42thought> and git2 is my git on eckner.net (cgit instead of gitea)
[09:43:27] <abaumann> how many git's do you have? ;-)
[09:43:52] <deep42thought> git3 is simply a ssl-ignoring, re-signed frontent to git.archlinux32.org
[09:45:03] <abaumann> upstream_flag_date is not Null=Yes;
[09:45:17] <abaumann> create table x(t timestamp null);
[09:45:19] <abaumann> insert into x(t) values(null);
[09:45:24] <abaumann> works at least on the buildmaster
[09:45:38] <deep42thought> ah, you have to tell it explicitely to allow "null", hmm
[09:45:43] <abaumann> yes
[09:45:43] * deep42thought didn't try that
[09:46:06] <abaumann> you might be able to add NULL to the table in an ALTER TABLE
[09:48:50] <deep42thought> certificate for git2.archlinux32.org is repaired, now
[09:48:58] <abaumann> thanks :-)
[09:49:17] <deep42thought> it was my mistake: I removed git2.archlinux32.org from the server_name variable in nginx :-D
[09:49:24] -!- infides has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
[09:49:26] <abaumann> Invalid commit reference: 4dc7c8312f982003c6b89423b496798580da2274
[09:49:31] <abaumann> on webkit2gtk
[09:49:35] <deep42thought> dammit
[09:49:35] <abaumann> might be you of date
[09:49:59] * abaumann he should stop looking at things - otherwise deep42thought will fix bugs the whole long day ;-)
[09:50:00] <deep42thought> indeed
[09:50:10] <abaumann> *out of date
[09:50:13] <deep42thought> would that be a bad thing?
[09:50:24] * abaumann shrugs
[09:50:26] <abaumann> no :-)
[09:52:32] -!- infides has joined #archlinux32
[09:53:04] <deep42thought> should be fixed now
[09:53:18] <deep42thought> for some reason, I cannot connect to my banana pi via ssh anymore
[09:53:23] <deep42thought> thus the sync fails
[09:53:27] <deep42thought> and the repo falls behind
[09:53:50] <deep42thought> otoh it is strange to sync the git repository on the server from my banana pi at home :-D
[09:54:49] <abaumann> well, it's secured in the cellar ;-)
[09:54:57] <deep42thought> no, that one is not
[09:55:05] <deep42thought> that one is screwed to my desk
[09:55:18] <deep42thought> I even had trouble connecting an hdmi cable yesterday to debug the issue
[09:56:08] <abaumann> ah. so you have to cut a whole in the desk just for attaching a HDMI cable? ;-)
[09:56:15] <abaumann> *hole
[09:56:17] <deep42thought> almost
[09:56:48] <deep42thought> I have to cut a hole in the adjacent "Igel" - which is my archlinux32 test box playing music for me :-D
[09:57:30] -!- MrBIOS has joined #archlinux32
[09:58:05] <abaumann> *juck*
[10:37:06] <abaumann> I really hate to say it, but my eeepc is notecibly faster with SSE2/pentium4
[10:37:15] <deep42thought> lol
[10:37:27] <deep42thought> so you "notice" the 2% difference?
[10:37:40] <abaumann> didn't measure, but it feels more like 10%
[10:46:22] <abaumann> mmg I'm doing some sed s/${CARCH}/i686/ everywhere for pentium4
[10:46:43] <abaumann> but I don't know yet, whether this can be a generic rule or has to be done per package
[10:47:44] <abaumann> see community/aubio, community/broadcom-wl,
[10:51:15] <deep42thought> I think, when sedding CARCH, we will repair more packages than we will break
[10:51:28] <deep42thought> so we should do this generally and add exceptions for certain packages
[10:51:31] <deep42thought> like pacman
[10:54:29] <abaumann> $CARCH is not ${CARCH}
[10:54:41] <deep42thought> it is not?
[10:54:41] <abaumann> people are creative :-)
[10:54:56] <abaumann> when sedding, I was sedding ${CARCH}, which missed out $CARCH
[10:54:59] <deep42thought> ah, you mean the regex won't recognize it
[10:55:19] <abaumann> yes
[10:58:39] <deep42thought> hmm, thinking longer about it, I think, we should keep CARCH as-is
[10:58:52] <deep42thought> and fix the PKGBUILDs which do not work with pentium4 instead of i686
[10:59:07] <abaumann> and fix as we go.
[10:59:11] <deep42thought> yes
[10:59:19] <abaumann> they are easy to spot: failing only on pentium4 and building on i686
[10:59:27] <deep42thought> also I would prefer a fix, that created a PKGBUILD which has routines that work for either architecture
[10:59:43] <abaumann> good point
[10:59:53] <deep42thought> not a fix which patches the routines depending on CARCH
[11:00:11] <deep42thought> I know, I commited some of those patches myself
[11:00:17] <deep42thought> but they are really not so nice ...
[11:01:32] -!- infides has quit [Ping timeout: 276 seconds]
[11:01:45] <deep42thought> otoh, the last point is probably purely aesthetic
[11:01:59] <abaumann> readability is always nice
[11:02:15] <deep42thought> well, this won't improve readability
[11:04:52] <deep42thought> splitting build() into build_i486(), build_i686(), build_pentium4() might be worth consideration
[11:05:20] <deep42thought> build() { eval "build_$CARCH"; }
[11:05:32] <abaumann> mmh. this repeats code, doensn't it
[11:05:43] <deep42thought> it would be auto-generated
[11:05:58] <abaumann> ah.
[11:06:00] <deep42thought> just a though
[11:06:00] <deep42thought> t
[11:06:15] <abaumann> let's leave things as they are for now..
[11:06:16] <deep42thought> I'll try to hack together some example
[11:06:19] <deep42thought> yeah
[11:06:22] <deep42thought> even better :-D
[11:06:35] <abaumann> ..I'll try to be consistent when adding CARCH->i686 transitions, so we can easily find and count them later
[11:06:50] <deep42thought> add an appropriate comment
[11:06:55] <abaumann> yep. :-)

[11:34:06] <abaumann> * :-)
[11:34:26] * abaumann considers adding -p package
[11:34:34] <deep42thought> it cannot do that?
[11:34:42] <abaumann> there is a -f / --failure
[11:34:48] <deep42thought> ah ,right
[11:35:02] <deep42thought> well, checking a single package is straight forward on the website
[11:35:14] <deep42thought> ... at least, that's what I thought when I wrote that script ;-)
[11:35:14] <abaumann> yeah. true.

[15:03:14] <deep42thought> so db-update was crippled

[15:06:56] <bill-auger> how is rust coming along? - that was a sticky point holding back a lot of stuff yea?
[15:07:55] <bill-auger> most notably, firefox - thats quite a high-priority program for most users

[15:09:36] <buildmaster> Hi nit-picker!
[15:09:36] <buildmaster> !rq nit-picker
[15:09:37] <phrik> buildmaster: <nit-picker> abaumann: but there are only 18 "intermediate" versions

[15:12:23] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[15:12:23] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[15:12:24] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> documented => the bug becomes a feature
[15:12:38] <deep42thought> regarding rust, it looks like we're walking in circles
[15:14:08] <deep42thought> for some reason, rust cannot easily compile itself (same version)
[15:20:07] <bill-auger> yea that bit i saw - sounds like a real problem upstream
[15:20:36] <deep42thought> some part of the preprocessor duplicates some lines ...
[15:20:39] <deep42thought> really annoying
[15:21:03] <deep42thought> though, it looks like abaumann successfully built it on pentium4
[15:21:03] <bill-auger> i also found this 2 years old bug report https://github.com - it really looks like they do not care very muuch about supporting any 32bit arch
[15:21:05] <phrik> Title: armv7 exhausts memory on stage0 librustc w/ debuginfo · Issue #45854 · rust-lang/rust · GitHub (at github.com)
[15:21:07] <deep42thought> so only i686 is behind
[15:23:13] <deep42thought> bill-auger: yes, that report doesn't give much hope ...

[17:12:46] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[17:12:46] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[17:12:47] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> manually updating certificates is so.. well 1980.. :-)
[17:15:47] <abaumann> deep42thought: ah, that's a good catch. :-)
[17:19:09] <abaumann> bill-auger: there was the intermezzo with rust-bin (which produced an SSE2 infected librsvg) and a pentium4 build of rust leading now to out-of-memory issues building thunderbird (in gkrust). i686/rust built with rust-bin leads to the dreaded U1024 type bug, wher deep42thought's sedfu didn't help so far. At least the out-of-memory issue with rust recompilation itself has disappeared.
[17:19:56] <abaumann> librsvg was rerelased upstream, so https://bugs.archlinux32.org seems fixed (at least on pentium4)
[17:19:58] <phrik> Title: FS#77 : librsvg doesn't rebuild (at bugs.archlinux32.org)
[17:20:24] <abaumann> the rest of the (horror) story is in https://bugs.archlinux32.org
[17:20:26] <phrik> Title: FS#71 : rust doesn't rebuild (at bugs.archlinux32.org)
[17:26:44] <abaumann> the out-of-memory in gkrust might be curable with the debug-info-level-trick, didn't try yet.
