[10:19:45] <T`aZ> :( , qt5-* libs are still not ok, most of them are at 5.14.1 , but 1 or 2 are already at 5.14.2 :( (pentium4)
[10:26:25] <deep42thought> T`aZ: I assume, you're on stable and those can be found in testing/community-testing?
[10:28:54] <deep42thought> ok, I see it
[10:29:05] * deep42thought moves 5.14.2 from testing to stable, now
[10:29:16] <deep42thought> same was true on i686
[10:33:27] <deep42thought> several qt5-* packages are stuck on the build-list, maybe those are causing the lockup
[10:33:57] <deep42thought> T`aZ: can you check if the situation is better, now?
[10:39:13] <T`aZ> awesome ! thank you !
[10:39:16] * T`aZ dances
[10:39:20] <deep42thought> :-D
[11:51:16] <T`aZ> can I simply boot a 64bits kernel but keep the whole userspace 32bits only ? (my cpu is in fact 64bits capable)
[12:01:28] <deep42thought> I doubt it, but I'm not sure about this

[15:21:54] <Funkin-Stoopid> hi everybody
[15:22:34] <Funkin-Stoopid> I try to build archiso32 but I got an error
[15:24:53] <deep42thought> you need to patch mkinitcpio/mkarchiso
[15:26:27] <deep42thought> e.g.: mkinitcpio has a bug which makes it exit with 1 (although successful) on certain systems, so a workaround is for mkarchiso to ignore mkinitcpio's exit cod
[15:26:28] <deep42thought> e
[15:29:38] <deep42thought> the next mkinitcpio release is promised to have this bug fixed, though - so the hack is temporal
[15:29:45] <deep42thought> *temporary
[15:33:54] <Funkin-Stoopid> yes, It exit with:
[15:33:58] <Funkin-Stoopid> cp: cannot stat '(builtin)': No such file or directory
[15:33:59] <Funkin-Stoopid> ==> Generating module dependencies
[15:34:01] <Funkin-Stoopid> ==> Creating xz-compressed initcpio image: /boot/archiso.img
[15:34:02] <Funkin-Stoopid> ==> WARNING: errors were encountered during the build. The image may not be complete.
[15:34:08] <deep42thought> yes
[15:34:10] <deep42thought> I know
[15:34:28] <Funkin-Stoopid> where can i find the patch :p
[15:34:52] <deep42thought> err, the *real* patch is somewhat lengthy
[15:36:03] <deep42thought> the "hack" is short: https://eckner.net
[15:50:23] <Funkin-Stoopid> I applied the patch, but i got teh same error
[15:50:26] <Funkin-Stoopid> the*
[15:51:27] <Funkin-Stoopid> patch added "[[ "$value" == '(builtin)' ]] && _addedmodules["$target"]=1 && >&2 echo "ignored: '$target'" && continue" line to /usr/lib/initcpio/functions
[15:51:48] <deep42thought> yes, this helped for me
[15:51:58] <deep42thought> the warning should be gone and also the exit code is 0
[15:52:02] <deep42thought> let me re-check

[15:56:03] <deep42thought> the fix really changes the exit code for me :-/
[15:58:27] <deep42thought> for building the iso I actually patched mkarchiso: https://eckner.net
[15:58:42] <deep42thought> err archiso32
[16:02:39] -!- Cthulu201 has quit [Quit: Nowhere special. I always wanted to go there.]
[16:29:06] <Funkin-Stoopid> It works for me only with te second patch
[16:29:12] <Funkin-Stoopid> deep42thought: thanks a lot
[16:29:17] <deep42thought> ok, np
[17:57:46] <Funkin-Stoopid> actually, we can fix it too with: sed -i "s/archiso.img' run/archiso.img' run \|\| true/g" /usr/share/archiso/configs/releng32/build.sh
[17:57:51] <Funkin-Stoopid> :)
[17:58:10] <deep42thought> isnt't that, what the 2nd patch does?
[17:59:36] <Funkin-Stoopid> yes it does
[18:00:01] <Funkin-Stoopid> no need patch command
[18:00:40] <deep42thought> I find patch easier and more desaster-proof ;-)

[22:01:14] <MediumD> Hey there, after having sucessfully installed arch I am now up and have a system that cannot access wifi. During install I had to wifi-menu which I now pacstrap'd with dialog. My network controller appears in lspci but it seems like there is no device created... How to create that wlan0 device? Or am I going the wrong route? Bless in advance
[22:03:04] <deep42thought> I think, fighting with wifi-menu is too many layers up
[22:03:22] <deep42thought> probably some kernel module which needs to be loaded
[22:03:41] <deep42thought> but I'm not really an expert on that terrain
[22:05:37] <MediumD> bless. that sounds like a reasonable idea given my limited knowledge till now. I will google further with that, other ideas are welcome though :)
[22:07:38] <deep42thought> abaumann might have some more specific ideas, when he's back (probably in ~9h) - he uses all kind of strange old hardware ;-) - if you dump your lspci output here, there's a good chance, he can point you at what might be the problem
[22:10:13] <MediumD> I hope to get that running earlier :D any idea why wireless-tools cannot be pacstrap'd? my repos are up to date
[22:10:31] <deep42thought> what's the error?
[22:10:41] <MediumD> "failed to install packages to new root"
[22:10:50] <MediumD> "target not found: wireless-tools"
[22:11:10] <deep42thought> there is no such package
[22:11:15] <deep42thought> where do you take that name from?
[22:11:29] <deep42thought> ah, it's wireless_tools
[22:11:32] <deep42thought> :-)
[22:11:48] <MediumD> bless.
[22:28:19] <MediumD> guess ill continue tomorrow. thank you so far for your help!
