[06:09:23] <sunshavi> buildmaster: is a bot?
[06:09:49] <sunshavi> yes virtualbox is broken. we need virtualbox 6.1
[06:10:01] <buildmaster> i486/onednn is broken (says eurobuild6-7-i486): https://archlinux32.org
[06:18:43] <buildmaster> i486/thermald is broken (says eurobuild6-7-i486): https://archlinux32.org
[06:34:12] <bill-auger> i suppose that depends who is "we" - if you asked mw, "we" have QEMU (and it works) :)
[06:34:59] <bill-auger> if you want a pretty GUI for it, try gnome-boxes
[07:18:38] <sunshavi> bill-auger: QEMU runs freebsd?
[07:19:54] <sunshavi> buildmaster: said virtualbox is broken. I have inspected the log file. and at the end it requires virtualbox 6.1
[07:21:12] <bill-auger> QEMU can run anything that can run on any of its emulated hardware
[07:21:24] <buildmaster> i486/gitlab-runner is broken (says eurobuild6-7-i486): https://archlinux32.org
[07:22:41] <bill-auger> that is, anything that can run on the real hardware which it emulates
[07:24:01] <sunshavi> i have issues running freebsd on orange pi pc. I have been addressed on using crochet (a tool inside freebsd 4 generating and ARM freeBSD image)
[07:24:49] <bill-auger> with x86_64, you can probably pass --enable-kvm, then it will actually be running on your physical CPU
[07:44:44] <buildmaster> i486/mariadb is broken (says eurobuild6-7-i486): https://archlinux32.org

[08:56:35] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[08:56:35] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[08:56:36] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> it's hot in Zurich. one power supply after the other dies.
[08:57:09] <abaumann> sunshavi: Virtualbox refuses to build on 32-bit due to various trouble (memory overflow being one of them), I didn't have time to investigate further..
[08:57:14] -!- abaumann has quit [Client Quit]
[09:00:08] <sunshavi> abaumann: i have tried two options: 1-> kernel lts failed 2-> sudo dkms install --no-depmod -m vboxhost -v 6.0.8_OSE -k 5.7.12-arch1-1.0. both failed with the same error
[09:06:55] <sunshavi> abaumann: https://termbin.com
[09:07:41] <sunshavi> my both cases ended with the same error. requiring virtualbox 6.1

[09:17:24] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[09:17:24] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[09:17:25] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> I'm back, together with my lazy build slaves..
[09:17:28] <abaumann> new PAM trouble: pam_systemd_home(sudo:account): Failed to query user record: Unit dbus-org.freedesktop.home1.service not found.
[09:17:39] <girls> abaumann: the log is incomplete, I'm working on it
[09:17:52] <girls> (titus_livius was restarted)
[09:17:59] <abaumann> hi.
[09:18:00] <abaumann> ok.
[09:18:02] <girls> hi
[09:18:52] <abaumann> I have to see what the trouble is.. i seem unable to stage new build slaves
[09:20:22] <abaumann> I tried to rebuld nagircbot on archlinuxewe. I cannot bump the version in the AUR nagircbot (no permissions) and bumping archlinuxewe alone didn't trigger a rebuild apparently
[09:20:52] <girls> this also runs on my bureau pc which is currently broken
[09:20:57] <abaumann> oh. :-)
[09:21:00] <girls> :-)
[09:21:07] <girls> and it's not automatic
[09:21:07] <abaumann> this explains it nicely, ok.
[09:21:13] <abaumann> ah. :-_)
[09:21:27] <girls> it's just part of my daily routine
[09:28:59] <abaumann> mmh. my build worker where completly borked, I'm deleting all of them and will rebuild them
[09:29:14] <abaumann> this also makes sure I'm not inheriting something bad from failed builds.
[09:34:47] -!- sunshavi has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[09:44:33] <abaumann> mymachines https://www.freedesktop.org cool. especially on an i486 build machine. :-)

[09:45:13] <phrik> Title: [solved] pam fails to find unit dbus-org.freedesktop.home1.service / Newbie Corner / Arch Linux Forums (at bbs.archlinux.org)
[09:46:00] <girls> "systemd-home"???
[09:46:21] <abaumann> don't ask. a hard coded pam.d config relies on systemd daemons.
[09:46:35] <girls> errrrr
[09:46:38] <abaumann> default=ignore
[09:46:40] <abaumann> at least
[09:46:46] <abaumann> so you just get error messages in the log
[09:48:02] <girls> maybe it's time to switch to crux on all my boxes >:-)
[09:49:48] <girls> they still live without systemd :-)
[09:49:56] <abaumann> how long, I wonder..
[09:50:10] <abaumann> systemd gets actively pushed into Linux and user land, till nothing will work without systemd
[09:50:36] <girls> crux is close to freebsd, so I think, they'll be fine quite some time :-)
[09:50:45] <abaumann> btw: read-only logins are now borked on my alix, also because of PAM
[09:50:53] <abaumann> some modules insist to write stuff onto the read-only revice
[09:50:55] <abaumann> *device
[09:51:02] <girls> ?
[09:51:06] <girls> this works on my raspis
[09:51:17] <girls> but I noticed, I only test sshd logins
[09:51:26] <abaumann> it's only the text console login
[09:51:28] <abaumann> sshd works fine
[09:51:29] * girls only own one keyboard
[09:52:22] <abaumann> read-only root is important for appliances like firewalls in a small box
[09:52:33] <abaumann> Linux works definitely into another directon
[09:52:35] <girls> or for stuff on µsd-cards
[09:52:35] <abaumann> *direction
[09:52:41] <girls> which get broken, when you write too often
[09:52:45] <abaumann> so, hence OpenBSD on my firewall infrastructure
[09:52:53] <abaumann> right
[09:53:07] <girls> that's my motivation
[09:53:07] <abaumann> I think, it's tunable, just moving some stuff to tmpfs..
[09:53:20] <girls> the security thing was motivation for me to put /boot in ro
[09:53:29] <girls> I have /var on rw
[09:53:33] <girls> this is convenient
[09:53:42] <girls> otherwise all kind of weird stuff happens
[10:16:21] <girls> speaking of dying µsd-cards: looks, like I got another one :-/
[10:21:41] <abaumann> urgh
[10:21:57] <abaumann> I had a broken sd-card on my main mail server just lately, loving that.
[10:29:47] -!- sunshavi has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
[10:32:25] <girls> let's see, how much ddrescue does recover :-D
[12:47:34] <abaumann> and? :-)
