[00:34:33] <buildmaster> i486/linux is broken (says nlopc46-i486bs1): https://archlinux32.org
[00:43:33] -!- drathir_tor has joined #archlinux32
[01:10:56] <wutno> im a bit dumb but how do i fix this, i have a package xf86-video-nouveau and it requires llvm10 but llvm11 is installed from the repos

[02:59:10] <bill-auger> wutno: are you trying to build the package or just to install it?
[03:00:13] <buildmaster> i486/go is broken (says eurobuild6-7-i486): https://archlinux32.org
[03:01:08] <wutno> bill-auger, well the installed version from the repos is linked against llvm10, but llvm11 is what's on there, so it fails to run
[03:01:19] <bill-auger> in other words, what you described is not a problem - do you get some error messgage when running some command? - if so, what was the command and error messgage?
[03:01:43] <wutno> yes, the driver doesn't work because llvm10 vs. llvm11
[03:01:45] <wutno> > [ 65.218] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so failed (libLLVM-10.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
[03:02:07] <jonathon> that sounds more like the package needs rebuilding against llvm11?
[03:02:11] <bill-auger> i see llvm10 for i686 - which arch are you running?
[03:02:17] <wutno> pentium4
[03:02:33] <bill-auger> no it probably just means you need to install llvm10
[03:03:07] <wutno> well how do i downgrade llvm
[03:03:38] <bill-auger> you do not need to downgrade - both should be able to be installed at the same time
[03:04:10] <bill-auger> because they have different packages names, that is not a "downgrade"
[03:04:42] <wutno> ic, brb
[03:04:48] <bill-auger> it would be a downgrade if there were only one package, and installing one version wouuld replace any other

[06:16:50] <buildmaster> i686/kbookmarks are broken (says eurobuild6-1): https://archlinux32.org
[09:04:39] <girls> wutno, bill-auger: looks, like it's due to the pending mesa rebuild
[09:06:31] <girls> hmm, no, it's only mesa on i486 which waits for a (re)build ...
[09:06:47] * girls don't know
[09:45:23] <bill-auger> girls: was that WRT to vte3 ? - the LLVM thing was someone else's issue
[09:45:57] <bill-auger> you maybe were not online when i mentioned vte3 yesterday
[09:49:00] <bill-auger> you may already be aware of it - vte3 needs a rebuild against icu68 https://termbin.com https://termbin.com
[09:49:36] <bill-auger> currently any vte3-based terminal is broken - lxterminal, terminator, etc

[11:25:43] -!- sunshavi has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
[11:45:44] <girls> this was w.r.t. "dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so failed (libLLVM-10.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
[11:45:56] <girls> bill-auger ^
[11:54:18] <girls> there is currently no vte3 to-be-built, I schedule a new one
[11:54:25] <girls> lets see if that gets the linking right :-)
[12:34:53] <girls> bill-auger: can you check whether vte3-0.62.2-1.3 has the right linking?
[12:38:23] <girls> I see, that vte3-0.62.2-1.2 was also built while icu-68.2-1.1 was installed in the build-chroot
[12:42:30] <bill-auger> its very easy to verify - just download lxterminal and try running it
[12:45:11] <girls> no x for me :-)
[12:46:01] <girls> linking of /usr/lib/libvte-2.91.so.0 looks good, though
[12:46:06] <girls> so it should work
[12:50:58] <bill-auger> its good on pentium4
[12:51:29] <bill-auger> thats not what i wanted though - i just created this VM yesterday - i need to convert it to i686 and try again
[12:55:15] <bill-auger> lxterminal and terminator both working now on i686 - thanks
[12:58:28] <bill-auger> for some reason dhcpcd stopped working - i destroyed the VM, trying to fix it, so i had to create a new one
[13:07:20] <bill-auger> those versions look a bit wonky though - only today, parabola picked up vte3 0.62.2-1.1 ; so probably i never saw that package or -2.2
[13:11:15] <bill-auger> yea my i686 VM had vte3 0.62.1 - that was from a pacstrap install just yesterday
[13:29:17] <buildmaster> pentium4/python-symengine is broken (says nlopc46): https://archlinux32.org
[13:35:38] <girls> dhcpcd had issues for me lately, too
[13:35:45] <girls> I switched to dhclient IIRC
[13:36:28] <girls> https://bbs.archlinux32.org
[13:36:29] <phrik> Title: dhcpcd may(?) fail to get ipv4 address / Announcements / Arch Linux 32 Forum (at bbs.archlinux32.org)
[14:03:37] <bill-auger> dhclient did not work either
[14:06:15] <bill-auger> ok thanks for the info - i was hoping you knew something about it - i noticed a similar problem when i build a parabola i686 LiveISO recently; so i will need to solve it eventually
